Jin Kang-Dae (진캉대), known as Cherry (체리/Чэри), is South Korean singer, dancer, songwriter, producer and youtuber from Kyrgyzstan, member of LionHeart (라이온헤아르트/ЛаёнХарт), boy group under Luna Entertainment and Luna Kyrgyzstan.
Background[]
Kang-Dae was born on June 1, 2001 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan in middle-class family of korean resettlement descendants. Kang-Dae first years of his childhood spent with his grandparends, who raised him due to his parents working in South Korea. In Kyrgyzstan little Maxim was taught by his family playing on various traditional korean and kyrgyz instruments. His grandparents were even planning on sending him to music school in Bishkek, when in 2008 his parents decided to take him to Seoul at the age of seven. In Korea Kang-Dae first had to learn the language he didn't spoke fluently back then, before starting his education. Until being able to join school at the age of twelve, Cherry was homeschool by teachers hired by his parents. Due to years of isolation and still struggling with the language, Kang-Dae in his school class was isolated and even bullied by other kids. The same year Kang-Dae was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome and moved to private school more suitable for children with his needs. During that period of his life Kang-Dae started showing interest in music and dancing, which made his parents send him to private music lessons. Later Maxim started to get interested in k-pop industry, his parents started supporting his attempts and helped him with auditioning to various k-pop companies. In January 2018 Kang-Dae was accepted as trainee in YG Entertainment. His presence in the company caused a lot of controversies, especially when rumors about his parents paying for his acceptance started appearing. During his stay in YG Entertainment Kang-Dae started causing a lot of trouble mainly with his hacking abilities, which caused a lot of problems to the company, finally making him kicked out from the company in October 2020. After the incident Kang-Dae applied to Luna Entertainment and on January 1, 2021 was announced as a trainee. On September 30, 2021 Cherry was announced as contestant of company's survival show - Arena of Hope: Royal Feast, where he finished as second, allowing him to debut in project korean-kyrgyz group LionHeart (라이온헤아르트/ЛаёнХарт).
Career[]
Cherry debuted as leader, lead dancer and vocalist of project boy group LionHeart (라이온헤아르트/ЛаёнХарт) on April 26, 2022. In group he's also in charge of writing lyrics and composing. Cherry is also active on YouTube where he mainly record gaming content.
Personality[]
Cherry is known as very enthusiastic and joyful person with lot's of energy. He often gets in trouble because of his slighlty childish and reckless way of being and having often stupid ideas he doesn't hesitate to realise. Cherry also enjoys making jokes and is rather known for being not very serious and humorous person. Another element of this explosive combo is his love to having attention focused on him, which isn't hard with his way of being. One of his favourite things to do is parodying other people, even if it may cause him trouble. Spending time with Cherry will also show that he has weird tendency to make random sounds in unpredictable moments. Another thing Kangdae also likes to do is flexing with his skills and intellect, he's fully aware of the fact that being both smart and attractive pulls people's attantion, which he enjoys. Despite of that, if situation really requires that, Cherry can act more calmly and elegantly, but it's definitely a challenge for him.
