Celestine Entertainment is a South Korean entertainment company established in the year 2000 by Jang Ha-Neul.

History[]

Celestine Entertainment started off as a company with policy very different than they have currently. Ha-Neul hired songwriters who were trained to compose music based on the industry trends. They pumped out songs robotically, which were then sung by Celestine’s idols.

Everything changed in 2015, when Solee joined as a trainee. She had great vocals, but was also an excellent songwriter and producer. She caused Jang Ha-Neul to change his views and encourage idols to participate in the songwriting and music production process. He now believes that performances are more authentic when the singers have a connection to the songs they sing.

Training Program[]

Celestine Entertainment is willing to accept trainees of any nationality, however, predictably, most trainees are Korean or from another East Asian country. Unless they already lived nearby Celestine Ent’s building, trainees live in dorms in Seoul. Dorms usually have 4 people each, and are separated by age range and gender. However, all the dorm rooms are close to each other, which often results in older trainees helping out younger teens.

All trainees learn dance, vocal technique, and rap. Most trainees are encouraged to focus more on either vocals or rap, depending on their strengths. Those who are of school age are allowed several hours per day to study. Some people choose an online alternative schedule program to free up some of their time.
