Byeon Seoni (변선이), also known as simply Seoni (선이), or Yu Hayulrin (유하율린) as an actress, is a South Korean singer-songwriter, actress, model, and rapper. She is a former member of YSM, where she was one of the last members to remain in the group.
She made her solo debut on January 28, 2009, with the single "멋져".
Early Life[]
Byeon Seoni was born on May 29, 1993, as an only child. Her father, Byeon Kyungwoong, is a known singer, who made waves with his debut album Hearts and Cards.
Growing up, she was regularly spotted at child modelling contests, seemingly winning every single one. One day, at the age of 16, a scouter at Haejung Entertainment had saw her potential, and scouted her.
Career[]
2009-2011: Solo debut, YSM[]
She made her solo debut on January 28, 2009, with the single "멋져".
Along with Lee Bohyung, Jung Yooyeong, Cho Sungmi, Ong Jayoung, and Yeom Chanhee, she was revealed as a member of the 7th generation lineup. She made her debut with the group on July 7, 2009, with the single "Do You".
The group disbanded sometime in 2011, following the closure of Haejung Entertainment.
2017-2020: Actress and modeling career, signing with Nest Management[]
On June 27, Seoni announced that after 6 years of inactivity, she would be debuting as an actress in the film Loving Together under the name Yu Hayulrin. Nest Management, a start-up agency, also announced that Seoni had signed with them.
On May 21, 2020, Nest Management announced that Hayulrin had left the agency.
2023-present: TABOO[]
On October 1, she was officially announced as a contestant on the show TABOO.
