History[]

2013-2015 : Trainee days, Debut, First comeback[]

In February of 2013, Jumping Hare Entertainment, a newly established company, held auditions throughout South Korea. 13 trainees ended up being signed under the company in early March. On May 12th, 2013 a kpop cover dance medley video featuring a trainee called Yeom Misun was uploaded to the company’s official youtube channel. The next time the public got an update about the trainees was on March 24th, 2014 when the company announced that they were planning to debut their first group ever in 2015. In September of that year, the company stated that due to financial difficulties, the group’s debut was delayed. In December, the company started a makestar campaign with the goal of recieving the funds needed for the group’s debut. The campaign reached it’s goal around a week after it started. On January 2nd, 2015 the company announced that their first group „Bunny8” will debut on March 3rd with a mini album. The members of the group were introduced to the public through profile photos on the group’s Instagram account. The group debuted on March 3rd, 2015 with the mini album „Jump Higher”! and the title track of the same name. On the 3rd of August, the company said that they have thought about launching sister groups for Bunny8, but could not do so due to financial difficulties. This idea angered fans of Bunny8, as they felt like the company was neglecting the group and focusing on launching other artists already. In October, the company cancelled all plans to debut sister groups and their 5 remaining female trainees left the company. Bunny8 made their first comeback with a mini album titled „Carrot Juice” on November 4th. The physical album sold more than 6700 copies in the month of it’s release.

2016 – 2018 : Sister groups, Rebrand[]

In March of 2016, the company announced that they have revamped their plans of debuting sister groups of Bunny8 and renamed the group to „Bunny” without the 8. Since the company didn’t have any trainees at that time, ArtSoul Entertainment transferrred 5 of their female trainees to Jumping Hare Entertainment. 2 of these trainees ended up leaving 2 months later while the remaining 3 kept training under the company. On May 3rd, 2016 the members of the first sister group „Bunny : The Revamp” were revealed. The lineup included ArtSoul Entertainment transfer trainees  Seob Yon, Eom Haneul and Mae Yun along with Kar Hyun and Son Kyungsoon, 2 pre-debut members of Bunny who left the company but rejoined due to interest in debuting in the new group. Bunny : The Revamp debuted on July 4th, with the mini album „Revamp”.
