BlueMoon (블루문) is a nine-member multinational girl group under FTC Company formed from the survival show Bluest Moon. The group consists of Chanu, Tsu, Changguang, Alexa, Pamela, Anda, Dabi, Yeonwoo, and Youni. Originally as thirteen, they made their debut on July 2, 2022, with the single album "1inabluemoon".
History[]
Pre-debut[]
On December 1, 2021, plans for a survival show were announced by SKYME Label. Additionally, it was reported that creative director of OGANESSON, Moon Gun-pil, had founded FTC Company in preparations for a group. On January 1, 2022, a teaser was released, revealing the survival show Bluest Moon. A news report revealed that there was to be 30 female contestants competing, indirectly confirming that the show aimed to debut a girl group.
On February 1, 2022, the show began airing. In the finale, Yoo Unyi was confirmed as the first member, placing 10th, followed by Yang Dabi in 9th, Ju Kyung in 8th, Kim Yeonghye in 7th, Pamela in 6th, Heo Chanyoon in 5th, Hirai Hikari in 4th, Changguang in 3rd, Alexa in 1st, Anda in 2nd, Kwon Aeree in 11th, Ry in 12th, and finally Hwang Yeonwoo in 13th. The group's final name was revealed to be BlueMoon the next day.
On May 1, 2022, FTC Company announced that four of the thirteen members would undergo stage name changes. The next day, Heo Chanyoon, Hirai Hikari, Yoo Unyi, and Kim Yeonghye had changed their stage names to Chanu, Tsu, Youni, and Younghon respectively.
