Blossom District (or BLD (꽃 지구)) is a South Korean record label and management agency. They are a subsidiary of the main company Blossom Entertainment.

The entertainment company was founded in 2009 by former Libertas Entertainment and Ivory Entertainment Group creative director Bae Dohee. Having worked on hit groups such as CLOUD NINE, TNXA, and 7pm, Dohee was looking to produce her own group. Later down the line, the company would house artists who have inspired the Korean music industry.

History[]

2006-2009: A rocky start as BD Entertainment[]

On October 29th, 2006, BD Entertainment was founded by former big creative director Bae Dohee. The company housed indie singer Kim Hara for 8 months before she left due to not wanting to pursue a music career anymore.

For a while the company laid dormant, with Dohee taking jobs to be a director for music videos of other companies to keep her company afloat. She eventually sold her company building to pay her debts and seemingly gave up her dream of creating a group.

2011-2013: Collecting trainees and debuting their first girl group[]

After almost 2 years with no updates, everyone assumed the agency had gone defunct, but Dohee hadn't given up her dream. She purchased another building in 2011 and immediately reopened the BD Entertainment website and opened social media accounts for the company. She put out a casting call from anyone in or willing to travel to Asia to participate in the 2011 BD Entertainment Asia Auditions.

Dohee would visit 5 countries across Asia to audition anyone willing to be in her company. These countries included South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, and Indonesia to cast trainees for her first girl group.

2024: Creation of PIXIA[]

On December 18th, 2024, Blossom District teased their second group, PIXIA with a logo image and a brand update.
