Beom-hee (범희) is an South Korean trainee under YR Entertainment.

Early Life[]

Chu Beom-hee was born in Jeongeup-si, North Jeolla, South Korea, on September 22, 2007, to a single mother. His father passed away during a work accident while Beom-hee's mother was pregnant, leaving him with only one parent. Beom-hee has 2 older sisters (born in 2002 and 2004) who protect and take care of him.

Growing up in a family of only women, Beom-hee, as a boy, would often partake in activities that his friends saw as strange, such as braiding hair and doing skin care. From a young age, he understood that his actions weren't usual for his gender, but he refused to let gender norms define him. Beom-hee loves his sisters and refuses to show any shame towards any hobbies or habits he learned from them. His deep respect for women even drove him to dream of becoming a gynecologist, to help women like his mother and sisters. However, that dream wouldn't last long, as he found a new interest—of course, with the help of his sisters.

When he was 9, Beom-hee's sisters introduced him to K-Pop, specifically their favorite group, EMERGE. He quickly became a big fan of the group, his favorite members being Yubin and Heejin. A year after becoming a super fan, Beom-hee and his sisters attended a show from EMERGE's Aquamarine tour on February 18, 2018. Seeing idols perform in person filled the young boy with passion—he so desperately wanted to be on stage like them.

The next year, an 11-year-old Beom-hee and his sisters attended an EMERGE fan meeting. Beom-hee was so excited to be meeting his favorite idols. His excitement was accidentally captured by one of Yubin's fan sites, who found the photos cute and uploaded them, captioning the post "Yubin's precious fanboy." Beom-hee went extremely viral among EMERGE's fans, Crystalines. The photo of him speaking with the idol was spread across different social media platforms. Fans called him cute, pretty, and adorable, and before he knew it, Beom-hee's mother was being contacted by different record labels, attempting to recruit the boy as a trainee.

After long discussions between Beom-hee and his family, his mother decided to allow him to become a trainee. After looking through their choices, it was decided that Beom-hee would sign with YR Entertainment. In August 2019, Beom-hee relocated to Seoul by himself and became an official trainee under YR Entertainment. He missed his family, but he couldn't pass up on such an opportunity. He assumed these would be the best years of his life; however, he didn't know what was in store.

Beom-hee began his training experience with enthusiasm, but he would soon find out that the other trainees had been preparing for years, and that his natural talent was nothing compared to theirs. He quickly understood that he would have to work ten times as hard as other trainees to catch up—and he did. Although it was difficult, Beom-hee found solace with YR Entertainment's female trainees, who were surprised by how respectful and kind-hearted he was. He quickly befriended many of the female trainees, such as Kim Dia and Cho In-ha (Amber). With their help over the years, Beom-hee achieved a substantial skill level in singing, dancing, and rapping, and although still not perfect, he's well-rounded in all categories.

Going from just a fanboy to a company favorite trainee, Beom-hee definitely achieved more than he ever thought he would in the K-Pop industry. He made and lost friends, experienced heartache, and learned to be a truly moral person. Over his 6 years of training, Beom-hee experienced his ups and downs; however, those only prepared him to take on the future.

Career[]

Pre-debut[]

On January 28, 2025, along with Wooju and Sion, Beomhee was announced to be a new addition to the YR Newcomers training program. Many fans of his thought the announcement was long overdue as he'd been training for so long.

2025-present[]

On May 18, 2025, Beomhee was announced to be a participant on CBC's survival program STAR RAIL.

Personal Life[]

Personality[]

A sweet boy who's revered by all, Beom-hee is someone people love to get to know. He's helpful and always ensures those around him are doing well. Although he's not the most talented, he always opts to help other trainees in need. Beom-hee's tenderness is recognized by those around him, which leads to people often approaching him for help, but he's not sure if he enjoys that.

Beom-hee's not exactly shy, but he's also not outwardly outgoing. However, due to his delicate and kind way of speaking, he often makes new friends with ease. However, he also enjoys his alone time and can feel overwhelmed by too much social interaction. Nevertheless, Beom-hee has love in his heart for everyone, and despite his own feelings, would never want to make anyone feel left out. He has a knack for making friends; however, Beom-hee struggles in other categories.

His sweetness can only take him so far because he tends to zone out, which can cause him to miss instruction or anything else people say. Although people tend to brush it aside due to how liked he is, the thought still dwells on Beom-hee's soul, and he often feels small bursts of shame. No one can be perfect though; Beom-hee knows he's always putting 100% in, which puts his heart at ease.

Education[]

While still living in Jeongeup-si, Beom-hee attended Dongshin Elementary School from ages 6 to 11. He was quite an average student and didn't exactly stand out. During his time there, he had mostly female friends. After moving to Seoul in 2019, he transferred to Seoul Garak Elementary School, where he studied until his graduation in 2020. Similar to his experience at his last school, Beom-hee didn't stand out and tended to mind his own business.

From the ages of 13 to 15 (2020–2023), he attended Haenuri Middle School in Seoul. He graduated with overall good grades, yet nothing to write home about. Beom-hee used the excuse of idol training as the reason he was doing so averagely.

After his middle school graduation, Beom-hee began attending the School of Performing Arts in Seoul, focusing on the Department of Practical Music. He's currently still enrolled in the school and attends with many other YR Entertainment trainees.

Friends[]

  • Dia: One of his first friends under YR Entertainment. Having just moved to Seoul alone, Beomhee was afraid and lonely, but Dia, who is one year his senior, ensured he felt wanted and loved. The two are still close to this day and often have long discussions.
  • Amber: Similar to Dia, Amber was also one of Beomhee's first friends under YR Entertainment. She, along with Dia, helped Beomhee improve his skills and gave him tips on how to please the trainers. Beomhee sees the girls in the same light as his sisters.
  • Eunwon: His closest male friend in the idol world. Eunwon and Beomhee only met recently in 2024 after Eunwon's transfer to YR Entertainment, but they couldn't be closer. Beomhee is usually only comfortable around girls but Eunwon's innocent charms captured him.
  • Stella: Stella only began training in 2024, and Beomhee was one of the first trainees to befriend her. As they're both 07 liners they have a special bond and they have a lot of common interests. Stella often shares Indonesian songs with Beomhee and teaches him basic phrases.
