Bang Hyeonjae (방현재) is a South Korean trot soloist under TSTAR Entertainment. She is a former member of the girl group 12ME and BOREALIZ, and a former contestant on Search The Cosmos Season 2
Career[]
Early Life - Trainee Years[]
Not much is known about her early life. However, she had joined Ma Studios after a month after it was founded. She trained for a year before debuting.
2020-2021 - Debut, On The Quest of Love[]
Hyeonjae was teased as a soloist on January 7, 2020. 6 days later, she would debut as a trot soloist with the single "ByeolStar (You Are a Star)". The single had reached 30k pre-orders prior to the singles release.
The next year, on March 8, she would release a studio album titled On The Quest of Love, with the title track of the same name. The album included her debut single as well. The album reached 70k pre-orders prior to the album's release.
2022: 12ME, SIGNAL, Search the Cosmos Season 2[]
She was revealed as the 6th member of 12ME, with being placed in the vocal unit 1. On August 13, it was confirmed by her on her social media pages that she would be participating in the second season of Search The Cosmos.
On September 28, 2022, it was revealed that Hyeonjae was expected to release a mini album before Search The Cosmos Season 2. She eventually released her first mini album SIGNAL on October 8th, 2022.
A month after the release, the title track "Oppa Signal" had gotten viral, due to her impressive vocals, as well as being a contestant on Search The Cosmos Season 2.
2023-present: BOREALIZ, joining TSTAR Entertainment[]
In the finale of Search the Cosmos Season 2, it was revealed Hyeonjae had placed 2nd overall, allowing her to debut in the project group BOREALIZ. Unfortunately, they presumably disbanded soon after releasing their debut mini album due to inactivity.
On July 2, 2023, it was announced that Hyeonjae will not resume activities with 12ME and had decided to terminate her contract.
On August 8, 2024, it was reported that Hyeonjae had signed a contract with TSTAR Entertainment and will pursue activities under her full name, Bang Hyeonjae.
