Baek Soo-Young is South Korean singer under MY:Dream Entertainment, she debuted as a soloist on May 12, 2013 with the single "Daydream".
Early Life[]
Baek Soo-young was born in 1993 in Incheon, into a middle class family. She grew up in a quiet neighbourhood, with a mother teacher and a father civil servant. From an early age she shows a particular talent for singing: she participates in school choirs and wins numerous local competitions. She is shy but determined, and finds in music a safe space to express herself.
During high school, she studied modern dance and acting, beginning to dream of a full-fledged artistic career. After graduation, she decided to try out the trainee route by taking part in numerous auditions

Pre-debut[]
In 2012, at the age of 19, she joined YBK Entertainment as a trainee, one of the emerging agencies of the time. The training is intense and disciplined, but Soo-young proves to be determined and ready to work hard.
2013-2016: solo debut and acting career[]
Her solo debut comes in 2013 with the single "Daydream", which conquers a niche of fans thanks to its unique style, which mixes melodic pop and emotional ballads. Soo-young is known for her ability to sing songs about complex feelings, often touching on themes like love, loss and self-reflection.
Between 2014 and 2016, Baek Soo-young consolidated her musical career with a series of successful mini albums - "Love'n'Hate", "Home", "Heaven 25/8" and the full album "Queen without King". Between 2018 and 2019, Soo-young continues to release quality music with "Home (Special Edition)", "River of Lies" and "Don’t Play with Me", the latter accompanied by a collaboration with Moon-hee, another YBK artist, with whom she releases the single "February 30". Also in 2019 she starred in the drama "Miracle Happens", consolidating her image as a multi-faceted artist.
2020-present: hiatus and new agency[]
In 2020 she releases the mini album "White Day", which marks a further maturation of his musical style, more reflective and experimental.
However, in 2021, Baek Soo-young makes an unexpected decision: he leaves YBK Entertainment and disappears from the spotlight. Despite her popularity, she chooses to take a long and mysterious break, without ever revealing publicly the reasons for her choice.
