Ayeon (Korean: 아연; Japanese: アヨン), also known as Yang Seungyeon (양승연), is a South Korean singer currently under Wild Melody Entertainment. She is a member of the project girl group IXUS, formed through Idolix Season 2.
Career[]
2021-2024: Idolix Season 2, Debut with IXUS[]
On August 7, 2021, it was confirmed that she would compete in Idolix Season 2. In the show's final episode, it was announced that she placed 1st.
On February 28, 2022, Ayeon debuted as the lead vocalist and center of IXUS with the mini-album FIRST AURA. Many music critics complimented Ayeon for her charming vocals throughout the release, as well as her role as a model center in the industry, which she balances well within the group. She and member Leslie were named the "charming duo" by the fans due to their contrasting, yet equally powerful, charms when performing.
2025-present: IXUS disbandment, DKDK[]
On February 14, 2025, IXUS officially disbanded. Ayeon continued independently, leaving Wild Melody Entertainment.
On June 6, 2025, she was announced to be a new member of LoveRail Entertainment's pre-existing girl group DKDK,
Personality[]
Ayeon is often described as an extremely outgoing, sociable, and caring person. She's rather good when it comes to keeping the atmosphere fun. Ayeon is often the energizer of the group, as she seems to be a playful, glass-half-full girl. On the downside, however, she can also be overly dramatic as she feels the need to always keep things entertaining for all. And though it's only her way of showing affection, she's quite clingy at times. Lastly, as a more carefree and spontaneous person, Ayeon can be rather impulsive with her actions.
