Awakening: Rebirth of Stars (Korean: 어웨이크닝: 별의 환생; RR: Eoweikeuning: Byeoleui Hwansaeng) is an upcoming South Korean Reality-Survival show where 33 female trainees will compete to secure a spot to debut as a global girl group. The show is set to premiere on May 5, 2023.
A sequel featuring male trainees, Awakening: Crossed Dimension, is planned for 2024.
Concept[]
The show focuses on female individuals who have dreamt about becoming a global sensation under the K-pop scene, Idols and Trainees who haven't gotten a chance to shine before. The show's theme is focused around a multidimensional utopia inspired by groups like fromis_9, WJSN, GWSN, IZ*ONE, aespa, LOONA, STAYC, (G)I-DLE, Red Velvet and other groups from the various K-Pop generations. An undisclosed number of trainees would be awakened to debut as the new wave of K-Pop girl groups.
History[]
On June 15, 2022, SCS revealed that they are collaborating with IOE Entertainment and Go Junseong to bring a new survival-reality show that would "give birth" to a global rising girl group, The details would be revealed on late 2022.
On January 1, 2023, the first teaser for Awakening: Rebirth of Stars was revealed, a survival show that has been on works for almost a year would finally begin sometime this year.

On March 3, 2023, a poster was uploaded alongside a new article that the trainees would be revealed on March 30, 2023, and that the show would begin in May 5, 2023.
On April 20, 2023, SCS revealed that the debuting group would be managed by IOE Entertainment.
On May 5, 2023, during the first episode, it was revealed that the chosen trainees would debut under the name ALISSIA.
