Asiavision Song Contest 2024, or ASC2023 for short, is the third edition of the Asiavision Song Contest. The contest took place in Vientiane, Laos, organised by Lao national broadcaster LNTV, following Xao's victory in previous year with his song "Gladiator".
Twenty four countries will participate, two less than last year. The contest was won by Angelica representing Armenia with song "Armenian Girls", which collected 246 points, 35 over the runner-up - Japan.

During venue candidates selection process LNTV also proposed construction of brand new arena in Vientiane, the idea was rejected for financial reasons.

Vientiane (Lao: ວຽງຈັນ, RTGS: Wiang Chan, pronounced [wíaŋ tɕàn]) is the capital and largest city of Laos. Situated on the banks of the Mekong River at the Thai border, it comprises the five urban districts of Vientiane Prefecture and had a population of 840,000 as of the 2023 Census. Established as the capital of the Lan Xang Kingdom in 1563, Vientiane served as the administrative center during French rule and retains colonial-era architecture alongside Buddhist landmarks such as Pha That Luang, a national symbol of Buddhism, and Haw Phra Kaew, which once housed the Emerald Buddha until its 18th-century relocation to Thailand.

The New Laos National Stadium (also known as Lao National Stadium KM16) is a multi-use stadium in Vientiane, Laos that was built in 2009. It is used mostly for football matches. It hosted the opening and closing ceremonies for the 2009 Southeast Asian Games. In 2024 the stadion was slightly modified, adding closeable rooftop, to host Asiavision Song Contest 2024.

Angelica Interview[]
During Grand Final concert winner of previous contest Viraxay "Xao" Inthavong approached the fan favourite Angelica, representing Armenia. During the conversation the presenter mentioned in humorous way "certain country we thankfully didn't invited", causing laughter of the singer. The joke was interpreted as insult towards absent Azerbaijan, which's broadcaster in response shut down it's Asiavision dedicated website.

- Azerbaijan confirmed it won't return to the contest without giving an explaination
- Bangladesh originally confirmed participation in the contest, but withdrew due to high participation costs
- Canada didn't received broadcaster's special invitation to participate in the contest, the invitation went to Ukraine instead
- Cambodia withdrew from the contest due to broadcaster's budget cuts
- Georgia confirmed it won't return to the contest due to broadcaster's tight budget
- India withdrew from the contest due to unsatysfying results in past editions
- Myanmar withdrew from the contest due to high participation costs, country confirmed comeback in future
- New Zealand withdrew from the contest due to unsatysfying result in 2023
