Work of Art[]

Art Kajornsri (อาร์ตขจรศรี, Hangul: 아트 카존스리; he/him) is a Thai singer under Heaven's Entertainment.
He placed first on the reality survival show K-Pop: The Remaster, making him the center of the boy group ANGELUS, and his agency's Wild Card.

All at once, the rest is history[]

Art Kajornsri was born on November 29, 1999, in Bangkok, Thailand. From elementary school through high school, he studied at St. Gabriel's College, a prestigious private institution that ranks among the best in Thailand. He started caring about style and making videos while still in high school. As a result, he created his own YouTube channel called "The Art of Being Abstract", which eventually became rather popular among teenagers. He posts a wide variety of videos, yet his primary content lies in fashion, styling, vlogging, and covering K-pop songs and dance. He claimed that after being exposed to K-pop, he became interested in fashion because "he wanted to look more like K-pop idols."

As Art was truly ahead of his time, he was frequently the target of bullying from his peers. They teased him for dressing far too fashionably and femininely for a boy of his age. His pacifist tendencies were spurred by the mental scarring he sustained from repeated physical attacks and verbal abuse, such as being called a string of derogatory slurs. Thankfully, he escaped his toxic environment and surrounded himself more with people who accepted him and continued to focus on creating content on his YouTube channel.

In 2022, After Heaven's Entertainment saw Art's rise to YouTube stardom and subsequent talent, they recruited him as a trainee that same year. He left for South Korea immediately following his university graduation to begin his training under Heaven's label. He studied Fine and Applied Arts at Chulalongkorn University, making him one of the rare artists in Heaven's with a college degree.

After Art announced he was going on an indefinite hiatus from making YouTube content, and some Korean fans often spotted him lurking around Heaven's Entertainment HQ, rumors of him being a Heaven's trainee sparked like a wildfire. Heaven's Entertainment would later confirmed this rumor as they revealed they have sent him to participate in the survival show, K-Pop: The Remaster.

Argumentative, antithetical dream boy[]

Art is described as someone who lives life to the fullest, is exceptionally bright and kind-hearted, and has the ability to set himself apart from the crowd. He is not one to shy away from the spotlight or the camera and has the talent to captivate audience with his word. Despite this, his is a selfless friend who will bring you to the top with him since he hates to succeed alone. He is the type of person that will look out for you even if you don't specifically ask for it because that's just who he is. And he enjoys playing therapist for his friends.

He loves to express himself authentically and was never afraid of criticism made towards him. Being teased for being "too feminine" never deterred him from being himself, and that, according to his friends, is what makes him "a real man." Fragile masculinity is afraid of him. Sometimes he would like to speak up against incels, but as a pacifist, he tends to avoid confrontation at all costs, even when he is the one who suffers collateral damage. Due to his history of bullying, he no longer had any interest in putting up resistance to other people. Whoever hates him can keep on hating him. Instead, he concentrates on strengthening his bonds with his loved ones. Which can be problematic at times because, you know, there are moments when you need to slap people in the face when they genuinely deserve it. But Art can't bring himself to do so, which causes him a lot of internal conflict. Spending a lot of time creating art is one way Art can relieve stress, but it won't fix the underlying issue of his being too pacifistic. Art longs for a future in which people are genuinely nice to one another (very naive of him).

2022: Training period[]

According to Art's instructor, he was slightly above average in singing and dancing when he first started training. His development was slow but steady in spite of this; he had the potential, drive, and talent to succeed. One of his distinguishing characteristics is his abundant charisma, an essential quality in an idol. In 2022, Art started to take intensive Korean lessons, and about a year later, he passed the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK). He also took modeling and Chinese lessons.

  • Vocal: Art's vocals has been praised for being sweet and unpretentious, incredibly heartfelt and authentic, and evocative of deep emotions in the listener. Art, however, compares himself poorly to the other singers in the industry and often thinks he was never meant to be a lead vocalist, let alone main vocalist. To him, he is average: not great nor terrible.
  • Rap: He was never trained to be a rapper, so rap isn't his strongest suit. However, he makes up for it with his songwriting abilities, which he can use to write rap lyrics.
  • Dance & stage presence: Art overcame his shortcomings in dancing by noting every single detail and took his dance instructor's criticism well. His passion for the stage and willingness to express himself greatly improved his dancing both in technique and presentation. His stage presence was never an issue throughout his years of training. As an avid GG stan, he mentions how much better he is at dancing GGs' choreography than BGs'.
  • Variety: Art's variety skill was a major factor in his casting by Heaven's Entertainment. Prior to being a trainee, he was a popular fashion YouTuber who's known for his sunflower and angelic charm. He is a gregarious social butterfly who can shoo all tension away like a mother soothing her children's pain. Since he is trilingual, he is the one who actively helps his fellow foreign trainee to adjust to life in South Korea. He has a terrific sense of humor, and his face has inspired some great meme-worthy reaction pics by other trainees.
  • Outfit styling: This is self-explanatory. Years of being a fashion vlogger really came through.
  • Stage direction: He has directing experience from his time in university, where he was an active member of the campus theater group for quite some time.

2023: K-Pop: The Remaster[]

On August 6, 2023, Art was introduced as a contestant on the boy group survival show K-Pop: The Remaster. As a part of his promotion, his label Heaven's Entertainment released his first digital single, Wish Me Good Night on the same day.

Episode 1[]

It's not an exaggeration to say that, much to Art's dismay, most of the contestants were put off by his appearance as a trainee from Heaven's Entertainment. The other trainees shouldn't treat him differently just because he came from Heaven's Entertainment, and Art made it his mission to change that perception. Without wasting any time, he introduced himself to the other trainees and soon became friends with those seated around him, including Sulaiman bin Sukarno (EXP Entertainment), Ong Moon-Hyung (Olympic Records), and Thanasan Sihawong (Big Planet Creative). Although he made an effort to be friendly with all of the trainees, Richard Bentley (EKLEIPSIS Entertainment), one in particular, was still too intimidated by his presence. Throughout the episode, Art cheered on his new friends.

Episode 2[]

Art captivated the audience with his expressive face and commanding stage presence as he performed "FEARLESS" by LE SSERAFIM for his audition. He flawlessly executed the choreography, balancing grace with a touch of attitude. However, the song's lower range pushed Art's vocals, as his strength lies in higher notes. His performance earned him a 4-star ranking.

Episode 3[]

In the first official performance round, known as the 'Emphasize Challenge,' Art was part of a group performing BTS's "Spring Day" with six other trainees. Following the rules, he chose Moonhyung, a trainee he'd befriended earlier, trusting his skills and hoping to solidify their friendship. Art then emerged as a natural leader during rehearsals, taking the initiative and unofficially coordinating the group. He even acted as a mediator when tensions arose, opting for constructive solutions over negativity. Notably, he steered Zhao Haoyu away from criticizing teammates Fynn Hwang and Zhang Xiao Yuan and instead focused on finding solutions such as adjusting the line distribution.

Episode 4[]

Art left a lasting impression when his group performed BTS's emotional ballad "Spring Day." His captivating stage presence demanded attention, while his surprisingly nuanced facial expressions perfectly conveyed the song's melancholic mood, adding a touch of theatricality to the performance. His efforts earned him first place in his group and helped his team win out of eight teams.

Episode 5[]

During the first elimination round, Art and his friends, Sulaiman, Richard, Thanasan, and Moonhyung, entered the room as a big group while performing a girl group dance. Art amassed over 1.24 million votes, landing him in a strong 2nd place for the elimination round. In a heartfelt and professional speech, Art thanked the company for trusting him and thanked his fellow trainees for their dedication throughout the competition.

This episode also showcased the trainees individually choosing their top visual pick from photos displayed in a room. While Art didn't crack the top spot, he secured a respectable fifth place for visuals.

Episode 6[]

Art and the remaining trainees entered the room for the next performance challenge, where Myunho presented them with eight songs they had to pick themselves to perform. When "Really Really" by Cherry Bullet was revealed, it created a commotion among the trainees. Performing in a three-member group meant less room for error but potentially more individual spotlight. Unlike most, Art saw this as a chance to shine because of his natural affinity for girl group choreographies and surprised everyone with his enthusiastic cheer. His confidence continued when it came time to pick his song. Although he expected Moonhyung to join him with "Really Really," Art ended up forming an unlikely trio with Nguyen Thanh and Sam Garcia.

The twist came with the "Switch Challenge." Instead of rehearsing for a single concept, the teams would spin a wheel to determine an entirely new direction for their chosen song. For Art's group, the wheel landed on "elegant" – which he dramatically but happily accepted.

Despite the initial comical awkwardness of their small group size, Art embraced the challenge. He eagerly shared his ideas with Thanh and Sam, but noticed their hesitancy to contribute. Sensing that, Art reassured them, creating a collaborative environment where everyone's input was valued. Confessionals revealed both Thanh and Sam's fear of holding Art back, while Art emphasized his desire for a supportive team where everyone felt comfortable making suggestions. Ultimately, the team decided on a soft and genuine approach for their performance, perfectly complimenting the "elegant" theme. Art's suggestion of contemporary choreography received unanimous approval, and he was chosen as the center, with Sam taking the main vocal.

Episode 7[]

The trio of Art, Sam, and Thanh embody elegance, clad in flowing, light purple outfits with floral accents for their "Really Really" performance. Art reveals their concept, and the group's dedication to mastering contemporary choreography shines through. The stage reflects their theme with wispy white drapes and oversized lilac flowers. The song has been transformed into a gentle ballad, featuring sweeping violins and soft piano melodies. The performance is a graceful and charming display. Sam's vocals soar, perfectly complementing the song's tenderness. Art, unsurprisingly, captivates with his expressive movements, and the audience's enthusiastic cheers erupt throughout. While Thanh strives for a more expressive portrayal, he maintains a constant, warm smile. The Really Really team landed on 5th rank.

The flashback scene unveils the "Really Really" team's practice sessions. Art thrives with the contemporary twist on the choreography, while Sam and Thanh observe in awe. Sam confesses in an interview segment his admiration for Art's talent. When Sam and Thanh attempt the moves, their lack of confidence and stage presence is evident compared to Art's natural charisma. Art expresses his belief in his teammates but grapples with how to boost their confidence. The scene shifts to the critiques from the "Reveal" team. Both Thanasan and Juyi highlight Sam and Thanh's struggle with stage presence compared to Art. This same concern is echoed during the interim evaluation. Back in the practice room, Art gathers Sam and Thanh for a heart-to-heart. He inquires about their feelings regarding the performance and offers his support. A sincere conversation ensues, touching on confidence, performance anxieties, and the pressures of the survival show. Art uplifts his teammates' spirits and provides personalized advice on enhancing their stage expressions.

Art also appeared in the "Reveal" team flashback, where the group performed their choreography for the Really team. Despite being six on stage, only Thanasan truly captured the upbeat and adorable concept with his expressive face. A short clip of Richard's comments played just before the "Really Really" team's criticisms worsened the mood. Richard confessed to struggling with the choreography but admitted the real hurdle was failing to connect with the song's essence. In the critiques, Art calls out everybody except Thanasan for being too afraid to just vibe with the concept Thanasan's commentary segment later revealed boosting team morale when no one felt comfortable embodying the cute concept. Richard gets called out the most by Art, as he is the center of the performance and needs to be the one who stands out.

Episode 8[]

During the second elimination round, a video of trainees' random play dance round was showed, and The first song of the random play dance round is Like Dancing by YUKI. A handful of trainees run to the stage, but the real competition is between Art and Elias. The trainers choose Art as the winner of the song.

Surging past the previous frontrunner, he landed 1st place with a staggering 1.47 million votes. Overwhelmed with emotion, he took the stage to deliver a heartfelt speech. He expressed his unwavering commitment to live up to his newfound ranking and promised to continue proving his talent. With a touch of gratitude, he acknowledged the "Really Really" team's efforts, thanking them for their hard work during the competition.

Episode 9[]

For the third performance round, Art was the first to pull the stick because it was ordered from their latest elimination rank. After pulling the blue stick, Art was sorted into the blue team. The other blue team members include Xiaoyuan, Richard, Kaito Kobayashi, Li Juyi, and Zachary Zhang.

Later, they had difficulty deciding what song they wanted to perform. Art, Zachary, Juyi, and Kaito wanted to perform a girl group song because they felt it would give them better concepts, while Richard and Xiaoyuan wanted to perform a boy group song. Art spearheaded a lengthy discussion, and through his arguments, he managed to sway Richard and Xiaoyuan. The team settled on "Bang!" by After School. The song's marching band sound inspired a militaristic theme, but none of the trainees was keen on a traditional military portrayal. Here, Art's influence continued to shine. Richard's creative spark ignited the concept of a fantastical military, soaring through the sky on magical ships. This sparked Kaito's design prowess, leading him to propose princely jacket-inspired outfits. Building on Kaito's idea, art refined the design into a unanimous team favorite. Meanwhile, Richard took the initiative, discussing with the production team the possibility of a giant, fantastical flying ship for the stage. Art collaborated with Xiaoyuan to lay the groundwork for the choreography, bringing the rest of the team on board.

Episode 10[]

The Bang! performance reveals two props on either side of the stage that make it look like the top deck of a pirate ship except with elegant fantasy elements covering it and wing designs. The trainees board the ship and walk to the center. The screen helps to imply that the ship is flying by changing the scenery from fields to clouds. The performance follows the six trainees as princes all vying for the heart of the same person as they fly across the sky. It is revealed that the five of them are heading to a grand ball that the person is hosting, and they begin to “fight” each other for the spotlight of the performance to each prove that they are the best choice for that person. On their flight, in the second verse, the ship is boarded by flying ship pirates and the trainees defend the ship with swords. In the bridge, the ship “lands” and the trainees deboard it as the prop is rolled away and transformed into an elegant ball scene. The mysterious person they have all been vying after appears with all of the other guests of the ball. The six trainees dance with the guests, but all try to make their way to the person. It is revealed that the person has already found someone else that they like and the five trainees watch in pathetic defeat as the person and their lover dance.

Following Xiaoyuan, Art was ranked second-best on his team for this performance.

Episode 11[]

The third elimination round brought another successful outcome for Art. He managed to maintain his position at the top, earning over 1.28 million votes. With grace and professionalism, Art accepted his first place during the announcement. He took the opportunity to offer words of encouragement to the remaining trainees, reminding them to keep pursuing their dreams because they all have the skill to.

The following day, Art and the remaining trainees entered a new studio for the next stage of the competition. Myunho, the show's host, presented them with the Finale Challenge: performing iconic K-pop songs in two groups of ten trainees each. On the floor, squares taped in two rows displayed various performance positions. Green squares represented girl group songs, while red squares signified boy group songs. However, the specific songs wouldn't be revealed until everyone chose their positions.

Art, focused on securing a lead vocal position, strategically moved Nikolaus to the Lead Vocal 3 spot on the red song. This freed up Lead Vocal 1 on the Green song, which Art promptly claimed. When the Green song was finally revealed to be "Gee" by Girls' Generation, Art and the other trainees seemed relieved and content with the selection.

Episode 12 - Finale[]

The Gee performance is not story-based and is instead a celebration of the trainees and their love of performing. The performance uses fun props and screen graphics to hype up the crowd and showcase the trainees and their skills. The song has been rearranged to have a slightly more synthpop feel. A dance break is added to the beginning of the song that highlights each trainee. The rap trainees have verses included in the bridge.

The finale episode offered a glimpse into Art's journey alongside the remaining trainees after the last elimination. A series of videos showcased their activities during a well-deserved day off.

The first clip depicted a trip to a local market. Each trainee received some spending money from the producers, allowing them to explore the market freely. Next, the group headed to an arcade and bowling complex, where they enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon filled with friendly competition. As the day drew close, they were treated to a delicious barbeque meal and relaxed around a cozy campfire, fostering camaraderie.

The mood shifted with the next video, which showed the twenty trainees gathered expectantly before a screen. Uncertain of what awaited them, they watched in anticipation as the screen flickered to life. To Art's surprise, a clip of himself appeared. He instinctively covered his face as the video played, revealing him expressing gratitude towards Moonhyung, Sulaiman, Thanasan, and Richard. Art spoke fondly of his fellow trainees, acknowledging their positive influence on his growth as a person and a performer. The four mentioned trainees started teasing Art, who was still hiding his face.

The show reached its climax as the announcement of the top 10 trainees for ANGELUS approached. Hearing his name called as a candidate for Rank 1 alongside Ra Gyeolhyu, Art seemed composed with a content smile, but his eyes were slightly teary. Fellow trainees congratulated him with warm hugs. As they make their way over to Won Myunho, Gyeolhyu gives Art a big hug. Reaching Myunho, Gyeolhyu offered Art a hug.

No matter who gets first, we’re both going to debut, so thank you to everyone who has supported me. Being a candidate for first place is already overwhelming on its own.
– Art's short word before the Rank 1 announcement, written by You'reMyVioleta

Then came the announcement. A shower of confetti erupted as Myunho declared Art the winner. Startled by the sudden burst of cheers, Art escaped with a surprised laugh. He needed a moment, a nudge from Gyeolhyu, and another hug to grasp the news fully. He had won. Gyeolhyu laughed at him and gestures for him to make a speech.

I prepared a speech, but I forgot it. Thank you, again, to everyone who has supported me, but also to those who have shown general support for the show. Every trainee here is so talented, and I am honoured to have performed with so many of them. I have made strong friendships through this show. [Art turns to look at the already announced ANGELUS members] Moonhyung, Thanasan, Richard, Sulaiman, I am so happy that we happened to sit beside each other on that first day of filming, and I am so happy that we will be debuting together. [Art turns to the camera again] Thank you to Heaven’s Entertainment for believing in me and allowing me to take this chance. [Art speaks in Thai] Thank you to the international fans who watched the show. The ANGELUS lineup already has so many non-Korean members, which goes to show how much international support we have. I hope that as center, I can promote ANGELUS as a group that is more than just K-pop. [Art speaks in Korean again] Again, thank you! I love you!
– Winning speech, written by You'reMyVioleta

Art and Gyeolhyu then approached the seats and hugged the others there. Art, Moonhyung, Sulaiman, Richard, and Thanasan do a big group hug. His closest friends made it to the final with him, and he couldn't be happier.
