Areum is a singer and songwritter under Neptune Entertainment. She is a member of the girl group Queen of Hearts, they debuted on May 1, 2025 with the single "Start a Fire". She debuted in 2015 with the single "Velvet Horizon".
Early Life[]
Areum was born into a modest family of emerging artists: his mother was a painter and his father a classical music teacher. From an early age she showed a strong inclination for writing and composing music, learning piano at the age of five. Quiet and introverted, she grows up between jazz albums, classical and 90s ballads, developing an intimate and nostalgic style. She attends art school in Seoul, where she graduates in experimental composition.

2015-2024: solo career[]
In 2015 she debuts as an independent with the single "Velvet Horizon", an ethereal ballad with a dream-pop style, which stands out for its warm and melancholy vocal timbre. Without great promotional means, it is slowly noticed among the most alternative listeners and in small live circuits.
In 2019 he releases "Azure Mist", a mini album that mixes soft electronics, folk and synth. The work is acclaimed by indie music blogs for its cinematic atmosphere and poetic lyrics. Areum, however, remains out of the spotlight, maintaining a confidential profile.
In 2022 he returns with "Bloom Again", a delicate piece inspired by the emotional rebirth after a long phase of creative stalemate. The single also marks the moment when he seriously considers the idea of joining a structured label.
2025-present: Queen of Hearts[]
In 2025, after years as an independent artist, she signed with Neptune Entertainment and was included in the renewed lineup of Queen of Hearts. The decision surprises those who know her as a mystical and introverted soloist, but it proves to be winning: Areum brings in the group a unique aura, more mature and reflective, also contributing as an internal lyricist.
The debut with "Start a Fire" mark her official entry into mainstream K-pop, but maintaining its sound touch in some more dreamy B-sides.

Moon Areum is often referred to as a "K-pop poet".
