Aprica Entertainment (아프리카 엔터테인먼트) is a South Korean record label and entertainment agency. Founded in 2010, they are more commonly known for producing song production team and lyric writers.
In November 8, 2021, it was announced that Blair Entertainment (now known as NAVIS COLUMBA) had acquired Aprica Entertainment after becoming their largest shareholder, therefore becoming a Blair Subsidiary.
They are currently home to K-pop groups: CELOSIA and VALARQVIN.
The name Aprica comes from the meaning of "Having lots of sunshine" as the companies drive is to bring energetic music to the world, as well as a double meaning of Apricot the fruit.
History[]
Formation[]
In 2010, the company was formed by Kim Junghyung, a music graduate from Seoul University who began recruiting production teams and song writers in hopes of forming a company that would begin lending their teams out to other companies to create music.
2020-2022[]
In January of 2020, it was announced that after 10 years of only producing production teams, that they will begin opening their doors for trainees aged 10 to 16, for both genders. The auditions have since begun to be held regularly.
Also in the beginning of 2020, Aprica Entertainment along with the help from Blair Entertainment, hired creative director Kang Yuju who was in charge of the boy group process and for future groups as well.
On November 8, 2021 it was announced that after nearly 1 year of talks, that Blair Entertainment has become Aprica Entertainment's largest shareholder, and as such Aprica Entertainment has become Blair's first subsidiary. Blair and Aprica Entertainment have been in close relations for several years now, with Rue Jackson and Luke Yamaguchi also being part of the production team at Blair Entertainment as well, with Blair even transferring several of their trainees to Aprica Entertainment when it began looking for trainees as well.
In June of 2022, after nearly two years of silence, Aprica Entertainment announced their first pre-debut team Apricot Boys with 3 male trainees, and that they will begin training for their eventual debut for late 2024 or early 2025.
2024: Debut of their first group CELOSIA[]
On January 22, it was announced that Aprica Entertainment would be debuting their first act, a boy group set for April.
CELOSIA debuted on April 27, 2024, with the mini album Fire in Me.
2025: Debut of their second group VALARQVIN[]
On January 3, it was announced that Aprica Entertainment signed on Lee Hwarang on as an actor.
On February 15, it was announced that Lee Yohan terminated his exclusive contract with the company.
