Ange Chérie (IPA: /ɑ̃ʒ ʃe.ʁi/) is a 6 member US-based girl group under LSG Entertainment and Atlantic Records. They debuted on October 25, 2024 with the single "Debut". The group's lineup consists of Talita Figueiredo, Nina Minh, Shanti Maharaj, Libby Vilaythong, Sadie Perez, and Grace Kwan.
History[]
Pre-debut[]
Vilaythong was a member of pre-debut Olympia Entertainment Korean girl group APHRODITE from March to April 2024, when she left the group and its label.
Kwan & Vilaythong were previously members of LSG Entertainment's Korean trainee group LSG Rookies where they regularly posted song covers on the label's official YouTube channel. Kwan joined in mid-2023, while Vilaythong joined in May 2024. Both were removed from the group in July 2024, presumably in order to join Ange Chérie.
2024-2025: Debut[]
On July 27, 2024, LSG Entertainment posted pictures of the 6 unidentified members via social media. They revealed the group, which would be named Ange Chérie, as their first venture into the American market. Ange Chérie would be a joint project between the Korean label and Atlantic Records, a US-based music label containing many of the pop industry's leading artists. The 6 members were unofficially idenitified by fans mere hours after this post.
LSG Entertainment released profiles of each member to their website on July 28, 2024.
On September 6, 2024, a behind the scenes image of what appeared to be a group photoshoot was posted to Ange Chérie's official social media accounts. The post's caption confirmed a debut date of October 25, 2024.
On September 18, 2024, LSG entertainment confirmed they would release in EP in early 2025. The same day, the title of their debut single was revealed to be "Debut".
A teaser for "Debut"'s music video was released on October 14, 2024.
"Debut" and its music video were released on October 25, 2024 to music streaming and digital download services.
On October 26, 2024, the tracklist and release date of January 17, 2025, for "Debut" was unveiled. The EP's 2nd single "Touch" will be released on December 27, 2024, and the 3rd, "Check" will be released concurrently with the EP.
"Touch" was released along with its music video on December 27, 2024. The group drew in criticism for promoting the track on US radio and TV during South Korea's 7-day mourning period for victims of Jeju Air Flight 2216. LSG Entertainment refuted the backlash by restating the fact that Ange Chérie were an American artist, and the Korean state of mourning did not apply to them.
Despite the controversy, "Touch" went on to become Ange Chérie's breakout hit, earning them their first charting hit in a multitude of countries, including their native US.
On January 17, 2025, Ange Chérie released their debut EP "Debut". It met mostly positive reviews from critics and helped propel its 2nd single "Touch" on international charts.
The group's 3rd single "Check" was released concurrently with the EP.
Over the course of early 2025, the group became particularly well known in Southeast Asia, with "Touch" topping national charts across the region.
