Alora (Korean: 알로라) is a South Korean girl group formed and managed by FI Entertainment. They originally debuted as five (Shuqing, Sahi, Rua, Jewel, and Hallie) on November 27, 2023 with the single album Everberry Bush, and the title track "Beautiful Scar". A sixth member, Ryssa, was added to the lineup in July 2024 in time for the group's first comeback with their mini album, The Wind Chime on 23rd Street.
While discussing potential group names with the company, the members and I were particularly drawn to 'Alora'. Although we were told that in English it means "dreamer" or "my beautiful dream", Hallie mentioned that it sounds like quite a floral name too. We all agreed we liked it and that was it. That was the start of Alora.
The members explained that the name Bloss is a portmanteau of the words bliss and blossom. The members jokingly call their fans "boss" sometimes due to Hallie once mispronouncing their fandom name.
While the plural for their fandom name is simply "Bloss", Jewel endearingly calls fans "Blossies" when she speaks to them in English, which the girls have picked up on — especially Ryssa, who calls fans "Blossies" with every chance she gets.
