Kim Aizere (Korean Name: 김연희, Kim Yeonhee) is a Koryo-Saram singer-songwriter, producer, and CEO. She is a member of the co-ed duo ЖАЗ under Universal Music Korea. She is the Leader, Main Dancer, and Main Rapper of the pair. On December 15th 2023, she, along with Tommy, created Sommer Entertainment as a part of the Universal Music Group.
Early Life[]
Aizere was born on February 7th, 2002 in Astana, Kazakhstan. She was the youngest of her families 4 children. Her mother was a lead soprano for the Astana Opera Choir and her father was a music technician and freelance producer. She began ballet lessons from the age of 2, before moving on to hip-hop and street dance from 11. When she was 5, her family moved to London and Aizere enrolled in an all-girls preparatory school nearby. She left when she was 13 to join a prestigious performing arts school where she met Tommy.
Career[]
2020-2022: Graduation, solo career, and scouting by UMG[]
Aizere and Tommy both graduated school in 2021 and moved in together to a flat in central London, due to Tommy going to university there. Aizere worked a number of jobs for various major British music companies before finally working on her own solo career.
She made her solo debut on April 21st 2022 with the song "Don't Call My Name" a jazz/ballad track which garnered relatively big success in the local charts. She regularly posted dance covers on her YouTube page and gained the attention of the Universal Music Group subsidiaries, Abbey Road Studios and Universal Music Korea, who were looking to work with new upcoming artists in the area. Both she and Tommy passed the auditions and were flown out to Korea to begin working on their debut.
2022-2023: Training under JYP Ent. and debut with ЖАЗ[]
Both Aizere and Tommy were both put into separate companies in Korea to begin their years training period. Aizere joined JYP Entertainment and found herself in a variety of pre-debut groups, being trained mostly in music production along with singing, rapping and dancing, before finishing her training year and assimilated back into the UMG. From August 2023, the pair were tasked with creating their own debuts, but were eventually put into a duo group.
The group, now called ЖАЗ, debuted with their first single album "LADY BOSS" on December 4th 2023.
2023-2024: Formation of Sommer Entertainment[]
11 days after their debut, Aizere was named as one of the new CEOs of the UMGs new subsidary label, Sommer Entertainment (also known as the Sommer Entertainment Group), and would manage different branches across the world in many different countries.
