Ainsley Kang is a Chinese New Zealander trainee under Space Entertainment. She was born in Wanaka, New Zealand. She has one younger half-sister and two older brothers. Both of her parents are divorced. Before she moved to Korea she was living with her father in Whangarei, New Zealand. She is currently competing in the survival show Kingdom Climbers.
History[]
Pre-Debut[]
For the first ten years of her life she lived in Wanaka, New Zealand with both of her parents and siblings. Her parents had always had a rocky relationship which Ainsley had noticed throughout her life but she never believed that they would end up divorced. So it was a huge shock when they had a family meeting and she was told about it. It confused her greatly and she refused to believe or understand for quite a long time. When she was twelve she realised that they had made the right decision after thinking back on her experience when she lived with them both. After her parents divorced she was allowed to choose who she lived with. Whilst she would have rather to have lived with them both she decided to live with her father but she went to her mums place most weeks. She ended up seeing her mum less when her father moved up to Whangarei when she was around fourteen years old. Around four months into living there her father ended up meeting somebody new. Ainsley was unsure at first but soon ended up really liking her step-mother because they had similar interests and treated Ainsley fairly.
Ever since she was young she loved music and listens to just about anything. However her most favourite genres are pop and dance music.She started singing and entertained the thought of becoming a singer from the age of six years old. She first started listening to k-pop because her crush recommended the genre to her. She didn’t enjoy it at first but soon discovered some groups that appealed more to her. She became interested in becoming an idol after going to a k-pop concert.
She joins Space Entertainment in 2022.
Career[]
World Class 2024[]
On August 19th 2024 it was announced that she was going to be a contestant on World Class.
Ainsley's demo stage was in Episode 2. She performed Allegro Cantabile by Nature with Maia and Alexis Park. She was placed in D rank and she ranked 31st.
In Episode 3 the theme song was performed along with the chance of a re-rank. She moved up to B rank. She stayed at 31st place.
In Episode 4 there was a group battle. She was put in team Irony who versed team Hot Issue. She was placed as the groups center. Her team won the stage challenge against Team Hot Issue and received a voting bonus. Her overall ranking was shown to have dropped down to 34th place.
She was eliminated in the second elimination at 31st place.
Talk Talk Trainee: 2025[]
On January 25th 2025 it was announced that she will be a host of the talk show Talk Talk Trainee alongside Ha Jiwon. The show began airing in February 2025.
In late 2025 she stopped hosting the show due to joining a survival show
