ASTRAL (아스트랄) was an 6-Member South Korean Girl Group. Originally as 9, they debuted on July 21, 2022 with their first mini album ASTRAL: Projecting.
History[]
Pre-Debut[]
on January 2022, the SNS account of Girls A were opened and six pre-debut trainees were revealed consisting of Tammy, Jiwoo, Hyunhee, Chaeyoung (Wooyeon), Kyurim and a Hidden Member. Staff and Producers of MyWorld Entertainment start following the account of Girls A. Later the company confirmed that Girls A are the new upcoming girls of MyWorld Entertainment but they don't have anything ready for announcements besides that the girls are planned as potentials to debut.
On February 20, 2022, MyWorld Entertainment announced that Tammy and Hyunhee would be removed from the line-up with Hyunhee terminating her contract with the company. Two days later three new members Park Sunmin, Do Chaeryun and Park Yejin were introduced to the line-up of Girls A.
on March 10, 2022, MyWorld Entertainment announced that Tammy would be rejoining the line-up alongside new trainee Kim Hyeseung.
Debut[]
On April 13, 2022, MyWorld Entertainment announced that the group would be going by the name ASTRAL and members profiles would be revealed slowly on a daily schedule, they announced also the debut for ASTRAL is set on July of this year.
On April 14, the first member Tammy was revealed, on April 15, the second member Sunmin was revealed, on April 16, the third member Jiwoo was revealed, on April 17 the fourth and hidden member Shenhe was revealed, on April 19, the fifth member Chaeryun was revealed, on April 20, the sixth member Yejin was revealed, on April 21, the seventh member Hyeseung was revealed, on April 22, the eighth member Kyurim was revealed, on April 23, the final member Wooyeon was revealed.
on June 17, 2022, MyWorld Entertainment posted the first teaser for the group's debut mini album "Chapters of Projecting: Starlight". The mini is set for release on July 21, 2022 alongside an episode for their miniseries called "ASTRAL: Projecting" that would be focused on ASTRAL's lore as a group.
2022: Tammy and Hyeseung's departure[]
On December 10, 2022, MyWorld Entertainment announced the sudden departures of Tammy and Hyeseung. The company stated that the group would continue to promote as 7-members and that the group are preparing for a comeback on the first half of 2023.
2023-Present: Sunmin's departure and group's departure from the label[]
On January 13, 2023, MyWorld Entertainment announced that ASTRAL will be making a comeback with their second mini album "REFLECTION", the mini is set for release on February 7, 2023 as-well as some new lore will be dropped by the time of the release.
On August 3, 2023, MyWorld Entertainment announced that Sunmin would be departing from the group and would be leaving the agency all-together. The agency is currently on discussions about the group's future as currently the group will go on an indefinite hiatus.
On September 19, 2023, members of ASTRAL announced that the group would continue to promote under a new name after departing ways with MyWorld Entertainment. MyWorld Entertainment that same day announced the departure of all the group members concluding the disbandment of the group.
