AMARANTH1NE (아마란티느), formerly Nu Jem, is an eight-member multinational boy group under Company of Dreams. The group consists of Jung Hoyoung, Vyvyan, Katagiri Haruki, Han Haneul, Andrea Son, Kiet, Rylan Panganiban, and Um Jihoo. Originally as 10, they made their debut on November 22, 2024, with their first studio album Reason : Awake.
The group will promote until October of 2025.
Name[]
The name AMARANTH1NE is a reference to an imaginary flower named an Amaranth that possesses a purplish-redish color. It is implied that amaranths never wilt, referencing the group’s undying spirit. Amaranthine also means “immortal” or “everlasting”, which implies that they will always be in their fans’ hearts no matter what. The 1 in AMARANTH1NE signifies unity, as they strive to “unite” the K-Pop industry.
History[]
Pre-debut[]
Prior to Find Your DREAM, some members were already active within the industry. Jung Hoyoung was notably a former pre-debut member of EMERGE, Katagiri Haruki and Han Haneul were former contestants on the now-cancelled survival show Star Maker: The Revolution, with Han Haneul also being a former contestant on Project Euphoria, placing 16th overall during the show's finale. Vyvyan Favre is also a former member of the group BEATGROW. Bae Junyeong is also a member of the pre-debut group OTE. While not specifically being active in the industry, Andrea Son was a member of the K-Pop cover group k-Generation.
Sometime in April of 2024, Highline Media was found to have trademarked the name "Find Your Dream" as well as "Company of Dreams", the former being rumored to be a name of an upcoming show and the ladder being a new company.
Members of Nu Jem
On June 4, 2024, Find Your DREAM's social media accounts were made, revealing the survival show name and the show's contestants consisting of 90 male contestants. The next day, the final group was revealed to be managed by Company of Dreams, a subsidiary established by Highline Media for project groups. Nu Jem was revealed as one of the teams formed by the contestants of the show, consisting of Bae Junyeong, Kiet Khemkhaeng, Jung Hoyoung, Ethan Jeon, Vyvyan Favre, Kaneda Masahiro, Rylan Panganiban, Katagiri Haruki, Andrea Son, and Han Haneul.
On November 5, 2024, the show Find Your DREAM ended, with Nu Jem proclaimed as the winner of the show. Nu Jem's "true" name was revealed to be AMARANTH1NE. The show then announced that AMARANTH1NE will promote for 5 months, disbanding in late April. Their debut date was then revealed to be in late November with a studio album. The same day, however, Kaneda Masahiro was announced to be leaving the group due to health issues and will be replaced with a former Find Your DREAM contestant. The next day, Um Jihoo was announced to be joining the group.
2024: Debut with Reason : Awake[]
On November 9, 2024, Company of Dreams announced that AMARANTH1NE will release their first studio album Reason : Awake on November 22.
2025: "Deja Vu?", Rise : Shine, renewal, departure of Ethan Jeon and Bae Junyeong, New : World[]
On January 28, 2025, reports revealed that AMARANTH1NE is set to make their first comeback in February and will release a single prior to the release. Two days later, on January 30, Company of Dreams confirmed the reports as the group announced that they will release their first single "Deja Vu?" on February 13, which will serve as a pre-release to their upcoming album. On February 13, 2025, AMARANTH1NE announced their first mini album Rise : Shine set to be released on February 28.
On April 3, 2025, it was reported that AMARANTH1NE had begun discussing contract renewals with Company of Dreams. On April 19, 2025, Company of Dreams announced that the group had successfully renewed their contracts for another 6 months under the company, however, members Ethan Jeon and Bae Junyeong will be withdrawing from the group to return to their respective agencies. Company of Dreams also stated that the group is currently preparing for a comeback in June.
On June 10, 2025, AMARANTH1NE announced that they will be releasing their second studio album New : World on June 22, 2025.
