ALUNISSAGE (sometimes stylised as alunissage or abbreviated to ALNSG; Korean: 아룬이사즈) is a 7-member girl group under VELA. They debuted on July 27, 2024 with the lead single "Attention", prior to the release of their debut EP ALNSG on August 10, 2024.
Under the pseudonym Ʉ₦łĐɆ₦₮ł₣łɆĐ Ø฿JɆ₵₮, the group released the single "MILK" on May 14, 2024.
History[]
2023-2024: Origin & Pre-Debut[]
In early December 2023, former Olympic Records creative director Lee Mi-Ba joined NAVIS COLUMBA (then-known as Blair Entertainment) by recommendation of CEO Bae Jung-Yeol to head a label created specifically to house the conglomerate's first girl group. Establishing VELA, Lee was given complete control over the resources needed to accumulate the top trainees for the group.
Female trainees from sister labels Aprica Entertainment and cosmichaus were transferred to VELA to help facilitate the creation of the girl group.
On January 1, NAVIS announced their first company wide audition NAVIS COLUMBA NEW GROUP 2024 AUDITION that would take place from January to April. By the end of January 2024, casting for the girl group had been completed and training began at the beginning of February.
On May 12, 2024, VELA was revealed to the public for the first time through the Q3 NAVIS COLUMBA meeting. In the meeting, it was confirmed that a girl group would be debuted under the conglomerate within the quarter.
Members' Pre-Debut Activities[]
From 2017-2022, Molly was the maknae of cosmichaus' (then-known as Kicking Music) girl group Queen Amethyst. She later signed as an in-house producer for cosmichaus (and eventually NAVIS COLUMBA), producing primarily for 7WRLD VANGUARD and CELOSIA. She was transferred from cosmichaus to VELA alongside Jua.
Members Aran and Bambi were transferred from Aprica Entertainment to VELA.
Annika, Blair and Verity were found during the NAVIS COLUMBA NEW GROUP 2024 AUDITION drive.
2024: MILK, ATTENTION[]
On May 14, the group released the pre-debut single "MILK" under the name Ʉ₦łĐɆ₦₮ł₣łɆĐ Ø฿JɆ₵₮. Although all seven members were present, each wore a mask that concealed their identity, putting more emphasis on their vocals and the concept of the music video. "MILK" would go on to be the most streamed song by a K-pop act of May, marking a record set by the group.
On June 17, the group appeared in labelmate Helio's MV for Caffeinator. This marked the first reveal of the members' faces.
On July 27, the debut music video for their lead single "Attention" was released as was the debut schedule for their first mini-album, ALNSG. Member introduction photos were released that same day.

Etymology[]
"Alunissage" is the French term for 'moon-landing,' chosen to represent the notion of the group landing on planets previously unknown and conquering them through their infectious sound.
Concept[]
On July 27, 2024, VELA CEO Lee Mi-Ba revealed that ALUNISSAGE would mix the Y2K and cosmic aesthetics of K-pop to create a sound "out of our experience of the universe."
At their debut showcase, leader Molly said the following:
