5TYLE (Hangul: 파이브스타일) also known as FiveStyle or 5-Style is a five-member boy group formed by KOL Entertainment. They released their eponymous debut mini album "5tyle" on January 24, 2024 and held their debut stage on Music Bank the following day. The members consist of Johyun, Hongchen, Chanseo, Micah, and Inwoo.
History[]
2023: Pre-debut, SKOOL KOL, and 5TYLE[]
On May 1, 2023, KOL Entertainment opened two SNS accounts on Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok for both KOL Entertainment and SKOOL. On May 15, 2023, KOL Entertainment announced a global audition to become part of SKOOL. It is unknown how many people auditioned for KOL. However, only 15 male trainees and 15 female trainees were set to be trainees part of SKOOL.
SKOOL KOL (or SKOOL) was a pre-debut developer project conducted by KOL where both male and female trainees would be able to display their array of talents (vocal, dance, rap) without sabotaging their trainee's identity:
"Our trainees and their identities will be protected regardless of gender or age. Our masking requirements help our artists remain anonymous while simultaneously display their talents towards the public consciousness. We hope you understand our concern."
From months June through August, SKOOL would slowly show their trainees one by one through dance and vocal covers. The faces of the members nor the names or dates of birth were not revealed during this time. Members of SKOOL would wear a black hat and mask to maintain their anonymity.
On September 1, 2023, it was announced that 5 trainees part of the SKOOL project reportedly "graduated" from their position as trainees and would be debuting in the first quarter of 2024. SKOOL would continue to post their unrevealed trainees on YouTube and Twitter.
On September 14th, 2023, KOL Entertainment purchased and copyrighted the trademark to '5TYLE (파이브스타일)'. On November 30, 2023, KOL Entertainment created several SNS accounts for 5TYLE, including private Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram accounts. On December 1, 2023, 5TYLE posted a teaser trailer to Twitter and YouTube, featuring the logo motion of 5TYLE. On December 4, 5TYLE uploaded "what's your 5TYLE" to their YouTube channel featuring all five members. From December 8 to December 12, 5TYLE would post reveals of their trainees. Inwoo was posted on December 8, followed by Micah on December 9, Chanseo on December 10, Hongchen on December 11, and Johyun on December 12.
On December 15, 5TYLE uploaded 3 vocal covers of Dear April by Frank Ocean, I Got A Boy by SNSD, and Sticker by NCT 127 on their YouTube channel, featuring all 5 members of 5TYLE. On December 20, 5TYLE uploaded 3 dance covers of Red Ruby Da Sleaze by Nicki Minaj, Cherry Bomb by NCT 127, and Danger by Taemin to their YouTube channel. On December 27, 5TYLE hosted a special debut showcase in Seoul ahead their upcoming debut.
2024: '5tyle', 'Var5ity', and 'Expen5ive'[]
5tyle - The First Mini Album[]
5tyle in 2024
On January 1, 2024, 5TYLE posted a teaser trailer for their upcoming eponymous debut mini album, 5tyle. Through January 2 to January 22, 5TYLE would post the promotional schedule, tracklist, individual member concept photos, highlight medley, and two music video teasers for the title track, "Tea Party". On January 24, 2024, 5TYLE made their official debut with their mini album, 5tyle, and title track, Tea Party. Tea Party gained 5,000,000 views in its first 24 hours. 5tyle reached 50,000 sales on its first day. On January 25, 2024, 5TYLE made their debut performance on Music Bank with "Tea Party". By the end of the week, "Tea Party" had accumulated 14,000,000 views and 700,000 likes.
5TYLE would continue their promotions on multiple music and variety shows, including Inkigayo, M Countdown, Knowing Bros, and Weekly Idol. 5TYLE would conclude their promotional schedule of 5tyle on February 14. On March 14, 5TYLE released a music video for the b-side "Dichotomy" as well as the official name of their fandom, 5IVESTAR, to celebrate 50 days as 5TYLE.

| Nam Johyun (Hangul: 남조현) professionally known as Johyun is the oldest member of 5TYLE as well as its leader and main dancer. Johyun was born on November 7, 2003, in Seoul, South Korea. Johyun auditioned for KOL Entertainment in May of 2023 and was accepted in later that month. Johyun was put in SKOOL KOL, a pre-debut development project conducted by KOL where trainees could display their talents while remaining anonymous. On September 1, 2023, it was announced that 5 trainees part of the SKOOL project reportedly "graduated" from their position as trainees and would be debuting in the first quarter of 2024. Johyun was the last member to be revealed on December 12, 2023. His MBTI personality is ENTP. He is 5'9" and weighs 128 lbs (58kg). His blood type is AB. He is a former SM trainee. His role models are Frank Ocean, RM (BTS), and Johnny (NCT). He has two younger brothers. He had learned Taekwondo before becoming a trainee and has earned many medals. | Huang Hongchen (Hangul: 황홍천 ; Hanja: 黄宏辰) professionally known as Hongchen is the second oldest member of 5TYLE as well as its lead vocalist and dancer. Hongchen was born on June 24, 2004, in Taipei, Taiwan. Hongchen auditioned for KOL Entertainment in May of 2023 and was accepted in later that month. Chanseo was put in SKOOL KOL, a pre-debut development project conducted by KOL where trainees could display their talents while remaining anonymous. On September 1, 2023, it was announced that 5 trainees part of the SKOOL project reportedly "graduated" from their position as trainees and would be debuting in the first quarter of 2024. Hongchen was revealed on December 11, 2023. His MBTI personality is INTP. He is 6'0" and weighs 121 lbs. His blood type is O. His role models are Xiaojun (NCT) and Yeonjun (TXT). Chanseo was born on April 18, 2005, in Busan, South Korea. Chanseo was a child model and was scouted by KOL in May of 2023 and was accepted in later that month. Chanseo was put in SKOOL KOL, a pre-debut development project conducted by KOL where trainees could display their talents while remaining anonymous. On September 1, 2023, it was announced that 5 trainees part of the SKOOL project reportedly "graduated" from their position as trainees and would be debuting in the first quarter of 2024. Chanseo was revealed on December 10, 2023. His MBTI personality is ESTP. He is 5’11” and weighs 118 lbs. His blood type is A. His role models are Justin Bieber and V (BTS). He is an only child. Micah auditioned in May of 2023 and was accepted in later that month. Micah was put in SKOOL KOL, a pre-debut development project conducted by KOL where trainees could display their talents while remaining anonymous. On September 1, 2023, it was announced that 5 trainees part of the SKOOL project reportedly "graduated" from their position as trainees and would be debuting in the first quarter of 2024. Micah was revealed on December 9, 2023. His MBTI personality is INFJ. He is 5’7" 1/2 and weighs 112 lbs. His blood type is AB. His role models are Kanye West and Cha Eunwoo (ASTRO).
